Music
Music in the Sacred Liturgy gives glory to God, brings people into the presence of God, enhances prayer, and gives inspiration and comfort to those who seek the Lord.

Some of the world's most beautiful music has been composed for the Catholic Church. "The musical tradition of the universal Church is a treasure of inestimable value, greater than that of any other art." (Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, Par. 112) A wide variety of quality musical repertoire from all style periods -- ancient through modern -- is used in the music ministry of Immaculate Conception Parish. This music is chosen according to the season and day of the church year and the designated Scripture readings in the Lectionary.

There is music for the following Sunday Masses:

  • 4:00 PM (Saturday Vigil), organ and cantor
  • 9:00 AM (Family Mass), piano, Children's Choir
  • 11:00 AM organ, Parish Choir, and cantor
  • 5:00 PM (Youth Mass), piano, guitars, percussion, Contemporary Ensemble. At the 5 PM Youth Mass, in response to a challenge set forth in the Second Vatican Council, community singing and increased participation at Mass are the goals.
